Tribal member pleads guilty to brutal assault - Mon, 21 May 2012 PST

A member of the Colville confederated Tribes pleaded guilty today in federal court to brutally beating and kidnapping his wife earlier this year. The beating left his 37-year-old wife seriously injured with two broken orbital bones around her eyes, a broken collar bone and a fractured rib.

Colville confederated Tribes fish and wildlife officers recently cited several Lake Roosevelt anglers for fishing without a tribal fishing license on land managed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The anglers aren’t happy about the $100 tickets or having their fishing gear confiscated on Geezer Beach next to Grand Coulee Dam. They thought they were on the side of the law.
