Boys track wins TVL Championship meet

The Tri-Valley League regular season crown has been difficult for the Westwood High boys track team to claim, but for the second time in the last three years the Wolverines have taken the top spot in the league meet. Westwood won with 103 points Wednesday, edging past regular season champion Norton, which was second with 99.33.
Runs for titles come up short

The quest for a Tri-Valley League title came to a halt last week for the Westwood High girls track team with losses in their final two dual meets of the year. The Wolverines fell 90-46 to eventual league champion Hopkinton last Tuesday and were edged 70-66 by Medfield last Thursday after losing in the final 4x400 relay.

Colts Neck High School has emerged as one of the best programs in the conference, while Howell and Manalapan have become solid programs that qualify for the state tournament. read more

For most underclassmen, the MSTCA Freshman/Sophomore Invitational is the first chance to compete at a large statewide competition. For the members of the Westwood High track teams it was another day of competing at the friendly confines of Flahive Field.
