">I think the larger point is that the sheer volume of availability of these things is increasing the number of people who are shut ins and hermits who maybe otherwise would have wound up getting out there in the world and mixing it up. My honest question is: after I've gone to college and gotten engaged, *out where?* My current life decisions are hinging around that very question. I'm now informed that in the "adult" world, social outlets I can enjoy (ie: not mostly bars) are few and have to be sought out. Funny thing is, I counted up the number of clubs I joined in college. In 4 years, I belonged to 11 different things. It was great! And then it all crumbles when you graduate." - polymath22
