BASEBALL QUARTERFINALS: Miles holds off New Deal

HERMLEIGH — With his team enjoying a six-run lead and being six outs away from completing a two-game sweep against the New Deal Lions, Miles High School freshman pitcher Shelton Hohensee was called upon to finish things off Saturday afternoon at picturesque Cardinal Field.

Adrian track teams defeat Tecumseh

The Adrian High School track teams defeated Tecumseh in a Southeastern Conference dual meet on Tuesday afternoon. The Adrian boys won 116-22, and the Adrian girls defeated the Indians 75 1/2-60 1/2. “Our kids ran real well today,” said Adrian boys Leo Lauver. “We’ve been doing a lot of conditioning lately, but we had a lot of personal records today.”
