A heron
perches on the railing on top of an intake tower which feeds the city water processing plant as a crew installs warning buoys around the tower on Thursday at Lake Nacogdoches. The new buoys went in in anticipation of increased boat traffic on the lake during the long Memorial Day weekend marking the start of the summer boating season.
