Jose Aguilar is like so many immigrant workers in Dodge City, Kan., who provide easy prey for American-born-and-bred Latino gang bangers. That may be changing. The message from the Dodge City police chief that even immigrants in the country illegally should call for help — “we want to protect them from crime, and that’s it” — seems to be getting through.

Two self-confessed carnivores challenged themselves to devour a gigantic 72oz steak each – but both failed. Meat lovers David Nicoll and Steve Shipp thought they would be able to easily carve up the giant slabs of meat, however both were defeated by the size.

Beef prices are at an all time high but relief for Middletown/Hamilton area consumers is at least in sight in the not too distant future.The largest contributor to the price spike is an increased demand in recent years and severe droughts in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Cattlemen were forced to decrease the size of their herds because of the scarcity of “feed resources.”

sirloins are aged for three weeks before being tested for tenderness, pH, marbling and percentage of cooking loss. The most tender steaks reached the finals.
