D igging into my raised beds for vegetable planting, the soil seemed different from other years. The task of spring cleanup is normally soothing; the early season weeds lift from the ground easily and the earth turns over with little pressure from the trowel.

The two ETgages I put out averaged around 1.5” for the week! If your corn crop was near
tasseling the crop coefficient would have been 1.1, so to estimate the crop ET we would multiply 1.5” x 1.1 which equals 1.65” for the week or
